Although similar to a pool and hot tub maintenance professional, a service technician specializes in water treatment for swimming pools and hot tubs. Day-to-day tasks involve repairing equipment, ensuring chemical balance in the water, working with various chemicals, and diagnosing issues with pools or their equipment. Communicating with clients is a major aspect of these positions; therefore, explaining issues or solutions related to the pool in a clear manner is critical. Service technicians work full-time along with evenings or weekends. Emergency calls are also expected. Since this role requires client interaction and inspection, these positions are normally in-person.
