Pools, spas, and hot tubs aren’t just built for families, many are built by families. Gib-San Pool & Landscape Creations is one of the most reputable names in the aquatics industry, and its success is rooted in three generations. CEO and President Ed Gibbs Jr. leads with this family-first mentality to champion his company’s growth by investing in those who matter most: his team.
In the 1970s, Ed Gibbs Sr. started Gib-San with the simple mission to build pools and provide for his family. Following in his father’s footsteps, Ed Jr. began working alongside him and officially stepped into ownership in 1993. The best part: this Gibbs legacy continues as Ed’s children Caley and Connor are now a part of the company.
While honoring the foundation already laid, he’s catapulted Gib-San to the next level – redefining their design, construction, and retail capabilities, all while reinforcing and elevating their core values to build a one-of-a-kind culture.
Ed’s fingerprints are on every milestone, guided by his vision to lead performance in quality and management processes. In his tenure, Gib-San made history as the first pool company in the world to achieve ISO Certification in four critical categories. It’s a recognition defined by the family ethos baked into Gib-San’s DNA and a leader who shows up for his team.
"It's about really embodying the sense of family to develop the culture within your organization. It's about a holistic approach to managing your team's expectations, your expectations, and continually raising that bar of excellence," said Ed.
He strongly believes that when you set your team up for success, that’s when you see the best results. Ed routinely encourages educational opportunities, offering professional certifications and PHTA’s GENESIS courses to sharpen employee skills. This is what sets apart Gib-San as a culture that truly values their professionals – establishing the pipeline for continued growth.
Beyond his own company, Ed has left his mark across the industry as a Member of The Executive Committee, Past Chairman of the Master Pools Guild, Past President of the Pool and Hot Tub Council of Canada, and recipient of the Council’s Industry Achievement Award in 2011. His leadership example has earned strong accolades, inspiring others and cementing the company’s status as an international leader.
Growing stronger with every generation, Ed carries out the same vision his father had – pools bring happiness to people, and that starts with a team that's genuinely proud of the work they do. For Ed, this is a deep commitment to ongoing collaboration and investment in those fueling the company's success. In its 50 years, Gib-San's achievements span pool design, certifications, and beyond, but the greatest is the culture Ed Gibbs Jr. has cultivated around the people who show up every day.
