Beyond general construction duties, a specialized laborer in the pool and hot tub industry is a skilled trade professional with a focus on a defined discipline. With expert-level knowledge in their craft, they serve as an essential part of every project team, executing precise, technique-driven work that directly contributes to the quality and appearance of an aquatics space.

Specialities for this role can range from the following:

  • Hydraulic & Plumbing Systems
  • Gunite/Shotcrete Application
  • Tile, Coping & Waterline Finishing
  • Water Chemistry & Equipment Integration
  • Hot Tub & Spa Installation

While physical capability is critical to success, many of these roles thrive on keen problem-solving, mathematical proficiency, blueprint literacy, communication, and adaptability. On a given build, role responsibilities could include setting tile, assembling equipment, interpreting engineered site plans, carrying out hydraulic fittings, or helping with gunite application. This dynamic, full-time role is in-person, primarily outdoors and on-site, with overtime opportunities during peak construction season.

Construction laborer positions are exceeding the average growth across all occupations and are anticipated to rise 7% in overall employment over the next decade, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Depending on the specialty, a high school or bachelor's degree is often preferred, yet not always required. Previous experience in construction is desired, but not typically mandatory.
